Long-time sci-fi actors Bob May and John Scott Martin died this month. At first glance both these men have little in common. But both were responsible for bringing to life two very famous sci-fi characters, Lost in Space’s Robbie the Robot buy Society Dog Show and the Daleks in the Doctor Who franchise. Yep. These two men spent hours pushing around these plywood creations and probably didn’t get much credit for them.

While I was recovering from having my wisdom teeth yanked out of my mouth I stopped reading food blogs. I learned my lesson from the first time I couldn’t eat solid food (a bike accident) and decided to read Kitchen Confidential. All of that talk about grilling steak and preparing food drove me batty. So this time around I decided to stay away from Smitten Kitchen, the Kitchn Beer for My Horses film The Mutant Chronicles The Devil’s Rejects release and all those other food blogs that I love so much.

of one of my favourite blogs, the Amateur Gourmet. Adam Roberts, who runs the AG, gave up a career as a lawyer to become a writer and found himself starting up his blog five years ago.
