A nice big cheque for Coach House Books

Good friends Coach House Books just got a nice cheque (and a nice feather in the cap) from the Government of Ontario. The publishers won the Premier’s Award for Excellence in the Arts!
Over the year, CHB has been the launchpad for authors such as Michael Ondaatje and Anne Michaels and they keep publishing amazing work (the uTOpia series, Darren O’Donnell’s plays, Claudia Dey’s work, etc.).

Might I recommend the uTOpia commitment (all three books in the series), or both O’Donnell books (Your Secrets Sleep With Me, Social Acupuncture, I’ll let the third one be your choice). I also heartily recommend Howard Akler’s the City Man, for those who really think 1930s Toronto is a perfect setting for a hardboiled detective novel.
