Esquire's pick for president?
Jul 22, 2007 in Media
Hmmm, while Esquire hasn’t officially endorsed a candidate it sure does look like they’re banking on John Edwards. They’ve got not one, but two features on the man. Plus plenty of Presidential looking photos.
There’s a lot to like about Edwards:
He’s Southern (The last two Democratic presidents have been from the South, the last non-Southern Democrat to be President was JFK, although LBJ was from Texas)
He’s got cash (Not just for fancy haircuts but for that pesky campaign)
He’s got a rags-to-riches story (“Did I tell you that I was the son of a mill worker?” Now he’s a millionaire lawyer)
He’s got a half-decent platform (Boiled down to one phrase “Being poor sucks”)
He’s not Hilary Clinton (too polarizing) or Barack Obama (perceived as a lightweight)
He’s got a sob story (his wife’s cancer is good for a couple of thousand votes, sadly)
He’s darned pretty (seriously, look at him)
