Finally, the short fiction book club

I’ve had this idea for over a year now and it looks like it’s finally going to come true. I’m starting a book club. Not just any book club but a short fiction book club.
Think about it, because of the flowering of creative writing programs, we’re seeing a gold rush of short stories. Every year dozens of them are published. Most of them sink into an abyss of anonymity.
Sadly, when people think about fiction the novel still reigns supreme. The short story and by default their writers just aren’t seen in the same league as their novel-writing compatriots.
But I’ve talked to many, many people and they all tell me that they like reading short fiction. So here’s the plan, invite 12 friends, let them all pick 3-4 short stories each month, meet, drink, discuss.
